  26. This is a demo version of HourzPro and ExpenzPro. It includes:

  35. This demo version expires after 30 days after which you must
  36. purchase the software or delete all copies of the software.

  48. * Zoskware Palm applications are now compatible with PalmOS 3.5.
  49. This includes support for the Palm Vx, Palm IIIc, and Palm IIIxe.

  51. * QuickBooks Pro 99 and 2000 have been tested with Zoskware products
  52. and are fully compatible. To import time entries correctly, 
  53. QuickBooks Pro 2000 users must set the "Time Format" preference 
  54. to "Minutes". See the user guide for more details.

  57. System Requirements
  58. -----------------------------------------
  59. The HourzPro, ExpenzPro and Reportz PalmPilot applications 
  60. run on any version of Palm OS. The only requirement is that there be
  61. sufficient memory to load the programs.
  62.  
  63. ExpenzPro will not run with earlier versions of HourzPro or Reportz
  64. installed on your PalmPilot.
  65.  
  66. Zoskware recommends that you use HotSync Manager 3.0 or later.
  67. However, ZoskSync will operate with HotSync Manager version 1.1, 2.0.
  68. ZoskSync and ZoskDemoConfig require Windows 95, 98. 2000 or Windows NT
  69.

  71. Unzipping your zip distribution file
  72. -----------------------------------------
  73. Use a zip utility such as WinZip (http://www.winzip.com) to unzip the
  74. Zoskware distribution file that you downloaded from your retailer.
  75.  
  76. !!! Important !!!
  77. Do not unzip the Zoskware zip file into your Palm directory (usually "C:\Palm").
  78. Doing so will interfere with proper installation of ZoskSync.
  79.  
  80. Always make sure that the files "ZoskConfig.exe" and "ZoskSync.dll" are
  81. in the same directory on your desktop computer. If ZoskConfig.exe cannot locate
  82. ZoskSync.dll, installation will fail.

  85. Installing the PalmOS Applications
  86. -----------------------------------------
  87. This installation assumes that you have PalmPilot Desktop installed on 
  88. your computer and the HotSync Manager is running.
  89.  
  90. !!! Important !!!
  91.  
  92. Before installing the PalmPilot applications, you MUST disable any "hacks" 
  93. and application launchers that you have on your PalmPilot . Some hacks 
  94. modify the behavior of the Palm memory manager and will prevent the 
  95. successful installation of large applications. If you get errors
  96. during HotSync installation of any Zoskware PalmPilot application and you 
  97. appear to have sufficient memory, the problem may be caused by hacks or 
  98. application launchers. If you still have problems, your PalmPilot memory 
  99. may be fragmented. See the Troubleshooting Guide for more details.
  100.  
  101. 1) Disable all hacks and application launchers installed on your PalmPilot.
  102.  
  103. 2) Use PalmÆs Instapp.exe program to install all the files ending in ".prc" 
  104. included in your zip distribution: HproXX.prc, EproXX.prc, RptzXX.prc
  105. (where XX is a version number).
  106.  
  107. 3) HotSync your Palm.
  108.  
  109.  
  110. -----------------------------------------
  111. Installing ZoskSync on Windows
  112. -----------------------------------------
  113.  
  114. Follow these steps to install ZoskSync on your desktop computer:
  115.  
  116. 1) Exit the HotSync Manager
  117.  
  118. 2) Run the ZoskDemoConfig.exe program.
  119.  
  120. 3) In the "Report Output Path:" field, enter the folder where you 
  121. would like ZoskSync to save HourzPro reports during HotSync. If left 
  122. blank, ZoskSync stores reports in your ZoskSync user directory 
  123. (usually C:\Palm\<user>\ZoskSync\). Click the browse button to 
  124. choose a directory.
  125.  
  126. 4) In the "Import File Path" field, enter the directory where you 
  127. will store import list files (from QuickBooks Pro or your own custom files) 
  128. that are to be transferred to your Palm during HotSync. If left 
  129. blank, ZoskSync searches your ZoskSync user folder for import files 
  130. (C:\Palm\<user>\ZoskSync\). Click the browse button to choose a directory.
  131.  
  132. 5) Select the preference for "Synchronize". Choose "All Palm Records" 
  133. to remove ALL list items on your Palm including ones that you create. 
  134. Choose "Only Records Previously Created by ZoskSync" to keep custom 
  135. selections that you have entered on your Palm.
  136.  
  137. 6) Select the preference for handling records with the same name. Choose 
  138. "Replace with Desktop Version" if you always want the desktop version 
  139. to placed on your Palm. Choose "Retain Palm Changed Version" 
  140. if you want to retain any changes you made to list items on your Palm.
  141.  
  142. 7) Click the "Setup" button. ZoskDemoConfig will check for the existence of 
  143. the two paths you specified, install the ZoskSync.dll conduit to your 
  144. Palm directory, and configure the Windows Registry. If either path does 
  145. not exist, ZoskDemoConfig will prompt you to create it. If you choose not to 
  146. create the file, ZoskSync will not save reports or look for import paths.
  147.  
  148. 8) Exit and restart the HotSync Manager. See your Palm user guide for details.
  149.  
  150. 9) HotSync your Palm. Verify that ZoskSync runs by watching the 
  151. HotSync Monitor dialog window. You should see a message 
  152. "Synchronizing ZoskSync". You can also check your HotSync log for 
  153. ZoskSync messages. ZoskSync always reports the actions performed via 
  154. status messages in your HotSync log. If ZoskSync does not appear to 
  155. be running, see the Troubleshooting Guide.

  169. Compatibility with Prior Versions
  170. -----------------------------------------
  171. This release can be safely installed over any earlier 2.x release.
  172. HourzPro and Reportz will convert your existing data and preferences 
  173. to the latest format. Some preference settings may be reset to default 
  174. values.
  175.  
  176. HourzPro, ExpenzPro and Reportz share a common database of projects/clients.
  177. Because of this, their versions must be the same. ExpenzPro will not run 
  178. if an earlier version of HourzPro or Reportz is installed on your Palm.
  179.  
  180. Once you have installed version 2.3 or later of the Zoskware Palm applications,
  181. you must not reinstall a version earlier than 2.3 without first deleting
  182. all Zoskware applications and databases. The reason is that earlier
  183. versions do not check the database version number and may crash and 
  184. corrupt your data if an older database is present.

  308. - Fixed the "* Missing Project *" problem. A problem with 3Com's backup conduit
  309. prevents Palm record IDs from being restored properly. After a hard reset,
  310. this caused HourzPro time entries to "forget" their associated project. A backup
  311. mechanism was developed to retain this linkage even after a hard reset.

  313. - The currency preference was changed to use the list of countries built into
  314. the PalmOS 2.x. You now must have PalmOS 2.x or later to use custom currencies.

  316. - The project lists now correctly sort project names by "hierarchy" when client
  317. names are shown.

  319. - Add buttons to Day View to easy increase or descrease the date.

  321. - Project View and Day View can now be completely customized. Each can be shown
